Mobirom carries on the legacy of the renowned Michael Thonet, inventor of the steam-bent wood technique. In the interwar period, the factory that would later evolve into Mobirom was part of a company owned by the international Mundus group, which merged with Gebrüder Thonet in 1922. This is how the craft was preserved and passed down in Romania.
